Welcome to the first annual Arena Competition, an event designed to level the playing field between adaptive and able bodied athletes. Able bodied athletes will compete using adaptive movements allowing for head-to-head competition against adaptive athletes. The Arena Competition will be held at CrossFit Optimistic on Saturday September 16, 2017. All proceeds will go to one of our favorite non-profits, Operation Comfort.
Operation Comfort is a San Antonio based 501c3 focused on getting veterans active and helping Gold Star Families. The non-profit provides support to combat wounded veterans who are receiving treatment at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) and Audie Murphy VA Hospital, both located here in San Antonio, Texas. Operation Comfort's goal is to aid veterans in recovering quickly and completely. They have programs teaching veterans how to adapt in yoga, cycling, sled hockey, and woodworking. They even have a family financial assistance program to aid in the financial burdens of a veteran's family.
